A Gift!

This weekend, we were given a rare gift in the middle of summer in the South:
A couple of days with low (for us) temperatures and even lower humidity!
That means that we are going to spend our days outside. All of us!
Because these may be the last comfortable outdoor days until October...
So, I wish all of you a wonderful weekend and to my US friends: Happy 4th of July!
I'll see you all again on Monday!!

P.S. Please excuse my PJ's and bed head...

  3. Sounds wonderful, enjoy your cooler weather. Here in El Paso, it's hot and now humid...ugh! It won't cool down now till about mid September!! So we'll be celebrating the 4th anyway, heat and all.

  5. I agree! Hasn't it been lovely? We even have a breeze and I can give my A/C a break!

I love your photos...you all look very happy, especially Winslow. You should have called him Paul Newman ;-)

Seeing your pets in the same photo I notice their coat colors are very much alike...that's nice!

    Enjoy and happy 4th!

  6. Great photos! We had that cooler weather last week and it was just awesome. I love it in the 70's and low 80's. Today it will be 90 but we will be at our son's later on his shady new patio so it should be nice.

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

  7. hello ms. silke!

i am outside too. all weekend. it will be 90 degrees tomorrow so i will have to find a pool midday, but who could complain about that?

i'm late to daniel's blog and your email but i'll get there. meanwhile, enjoy every minute. i'll be planting pink zinnias--my favorite, outside my kitchen window. and eating grilled zucchini and summer squash and lightly floured scallops. it's the land of the free this weekend: not for everyone, but it's good to acknowledge our good fortune.

    i love you!

  12. Beautiful post! I'm so happy for you all that you could enjoy that gorgeous weather. I can't imagine that kind of heat, we have been covered by a thick, cold and wet blanket of fog for days now. I don't mind so much but the poor tourists who come to the beach probably do!
    xoxo, lori

  16. Aaaaaw! I love Winslow! I love Winslow. Aren't dogs the greatest? I love Daisy so much. HAHAHAHHA! That Anne. She wrote me a very flthy letter, complaining why I am taking a blogging break so I am talking dirty over at her blog.

    HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Just kidding. She did not write me a filthy letter. I am just trying to get her in trouble. HAHAHAHA!

Aaw Silky, my work is killing me. I am so busy so I am taking a break but today I am cooking brisket.

    How are you?

    What are you doing?

    What are you wearing?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAH!

  17. I love you! I am sorry I have not been visiting much. I have only been spamming some blogs. HAHAHAHA!

    Tsup! Tsup!

  18. I once knew a Boston butt and she was big. HAHAHAHAHAH!

OMG! I am so crazy. It's all Anne's fault!

Oh well, I hope this turns out okay. I am baking it in the oven. It has been 4 fours since and I wants it to fall apart when I touch it.

I think your food tastes and looks better than mine. We are heading out east next month.

  19. HAHAHAHAHAHA! Saying that I am taking a break gives me the option to not blog when I am really swamped. It's the weekend and things are calm right now. Starting Tuesday I will be getting into a firestorm. Three projects in the next couple of weeks and I wake up in the middle of the night to turn on my rules. Then I have been assigned more work, plus the fiscal year just ended and it's time for evaluation. I will be visiting sisterfriends now and then. I just can't post because my post requires artwork.

  20. Your Boston butt shrunk? I wish mine did too!

  21. OMG! You crack me up. HAHAHAHAHA!

    I love you! Tsup!

My oven just beeped and the epsilons are hungry. They are making up words like "Is the brisket tryable?"

    HAHAHA!

    Tsup!

  23. Beautiful pup, and what a beautiful trail! I see from your profile that you are in Savannah. Where is the trail that you're hiking? I wouldn't mind adding it to my "must see" list. I wish that I looked as good in the morning as you do!

  25. We are in north Ga and ended up with a couple of those days, too. Days you could walk outside and not feel like you were in a sauna. Rare.

I love Savannah. We are going to Tybee the end of the month. I know that will include lots of trips to Savannah. Its become an annual trip for us.
