Pittsburgh to NY

We just got back from our road trip and had the most amazing time! I am on inspiration overload - it's that way every time we get on the road. I don't know what it is, but my mind works in warp speed as I am looking out the car windows and spend time with family and friends. We visited so many different places and took so many photos that you'll have to bear with me for a few days - I want to show you all of it! Well, at least some of it...
The two photos above are of the old train station in Pittsburgh that has been converted into apartments. Our nephew lives there and we got to stay with him - isn't it a gorgeous building?

The photo below just made me laugh - everyone on their cell phones. Actually, Daniel was just posing...

On our way to a wonderful museum called The Mattress Factory, we sort of got lost and found these two amazingly brightly colored building.

At The Mattress Factory, we saw some great interactive exhibits! It was fun being able to get "into" the art and be part of it. We had great fun!
The craziest game of Twister...

A last view of Pittsburgh before we hit the road toward Niagara Falls.I was surprised at all the vineyards around Lake Erie - so beautiful!

And one teaser photo of what's to come tomorrow...
Also tomorrow, I am going to visit your blogs! I've missed you all!!

Snapshots from the Road

It is pouring rain and thundering right now in Niagara Falls, so I thought I'd load a few snapshots from the first leg of our trip for you. On Thursday, we drove from Savannah to Pittsburgh to meet up with Daniel's sister and her two grown sons. It was a 12-hour drive through some of the prettiest countryside! I constantly snap photos from the car and some of them even turn out pretty good. (You can click on any of them to see them bigger.)

Right after Daniel took the picture above, we went into a tunnel and when we emerged, this was the view we had of Pittsburgh!
Stunning!! Daniel lived here for a year 20-some years ago, when he studied at the Art Institute. Much had changed, but he still recognized many buildings and was happy he could finally share that part of his life with me. I found Pittsburgh to be an attractive and vibrant city and will have some more photos in my next post.

The rain is starting to clear up, which is good. Our niece's wedding is going to take place outside this afternoon. She has a plan B, but we are all hoping that the weather is going to cooperate for her!

Yesterday, when I was able to check my e-mail, I saw all your wonderful comments, which made me feel so good. I miss checking in with you all daily! For now, I hope that you are all having a relaxing weekend!
