Another Sketch

Here's the second sketch I did a couple of days ago, again only 15 minutes of painting on a prepared background (5 x 7 piece of acrylic paper with collage papers and tissue paper). I really like working this way - there is a lack of control and therefore every time some beautiful surprises I couldn't have planned for.

P.S. Kiki asked how I photograph my art. When the pieces are small like this, I scan them, which really makes them look their best. When they are large, I photograph them and then work on the photograph in Adobe Photoshop until it looks like the original. I hope that helps!

  4. Oh man...Silke, these just keep getting better and better!
I love the fact that I can see some of the paper details that were the substrate on this one, and the use of color is wonderful.
It certainly evokes a mood; calm and serene and invites thw viewer to linger......

  5. Okay dearest Silke, it seems to me that being under the weather has been an auspicious thing for you. The absence of pressure must have translated to abandon in the studio!!!

How are you? Are you feeling better? Your work is fantastic. I see a trace of the old Silke I love so much! The women with bright eyes!
