Even though being different was strongly discouraged, she was brave enough to be herself!
Yesterday, I finally felt well enough to paint a little. I decided to cut up my work in progress from my last art post into three separate, smaller paintings. It just wasn't coming together as one painting. This young lady (6 x 8 inches) is just a little bit scary, but I sort of like the colors. They reflected my mood yesterday...
Thank you all for your very sweet and loving comments yesterday. It makes me aware of the amazing, loving and supportive community we have created here. I am proud to be a part of it!
Fabulous work, Silke. I'm really enjoying the vibrancy of the colours you're working with. Thank you so much for visiting my blog. It's always lovely to hear from you. And, I'm so glad you're feeling better. Love & bright wishes. xx
ReplyDeleteWhat do you mean Silke "cut up my work in progress" - did you shred the last painting?! I hope not..I hope I have mistaken your meaning and the painting you have posted here is still part of that work - I thought it held a lot of promise and was looking forward to seeing your progress...hmm
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I hope you are feeling better now, we all have those moments (Gosh I have them heaps LOL) - yes, the colours in this one are very vibrant and her expression is a bit fierce but even that works!!!
Sending you well wishing. Blessings friend.
ReplyDeleteYour work is powerful! Do take care - hope you are feeling completely well again soon.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work Silke!
ReplyDeleteHoping that soon you feel better...that your heart will be shining and your spirits sparkling! Blessings. take care!

She's not scary at all Silke.....she's just peering out of the shadows, deciding when is the right time to step forth inot the sun. :)
ReplyDeleteSometimes multiple image pieces work, sometimes they don't. I think that it's the quirks of the art-gods.....
Glad you are on the mend. ♥
XXOO!!

This painting is wonderful, Silke. It is very stark in mood and through its dramatic colors. There is a lot of sadness in her eyes. Very beautiful and haunting work.
ReplyDeleteTake care, and I am glad you are feeling better! Theresa :)
I like her. I like different. You and Anne are on a similar path today. I love the texture in this piece. Feel well Beautiful One. **blows kisses** Deb
ReplyDeleteThe colours are wonderful and powerful! Not scary - just not what you expect to see in a face. You go, Silke!
ReplyDeleteSo glad to know you are feeling better! I like the way Anne said it to describe this painting. But then i LOVE all your paintings dear.

Powerful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I can see you are changing your nose shape a little. About ten years ago I sat to draw some flowers and leaves, Somehow tried to draw what I couldn't see. Thinking I had to use my mind more. Then I was told to draw only what
ReplyDeleteI can see. So I sat there pondering and it took a good five minutes to see the actual shape. I could only see half the leaf I thought I could.
Noses are so difficult, I still have problems with them. Where the circle part goes to make them stand out more. Arrggh! They drive me mad. I think this is why I have simplified them with a line and make them semi flat in a way. Stylize something. I have so much respect for you in developing your noses into realistic forms.
YOU ROCK SILKE!
Hugs!
Julie

She turned out magical! Perfect entry for IF. It's always nice to put out your emotions through painting. :)
ReplyDeleteI don't see scary...I think she sees something that bothers her and she is showing concern. I love the painting. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the colors, I love the wildness of her. She just looks free to me maybe that is what happens when you put pieces together. I'm glad you are feeling better.
