Painting, Flowers and Yoga

This is going to be a mish mash sort of post - it's been a mish mash sort of day yesterday, busy with lots of little things and one big thing: tax return! That will be ongoing through the rest of the week...

I did make a little progress on my latest painting and am pleased to see that a sweet young woman is emerging. I like her kind eyes. We'll see how she develops!
Now some pretties from the garden. Daniel planted these for me this year and they are blooming already. Bleeding hearts are some of my favorite plants!
It seems to be a good spring for violets this year. They are blooming in abundance. So small and so very pretty!
Now, I have to explain about the last picture. This morning, I decided to do some yoga and thought I would be safe in the living room. Winslow was in deep sleep in the bedroom and Ramses was sleeping upstairs. Within five minutes, this is what happened:
Ramses comfy on my pillow prop and Winslow taking up half the mat and trying to lick my fingers and toes every time they came near, making me laugh. My poses were less than perfect, but the fun factor made up for it...

I feel like I still have to make up for lost time and visit you all. Plus, I have some awards to pass on. I guess it'll all happen in good time. In the meantime, thank you all for your many visits and wonderful comments! It means so much to me!!

  4. Hey Silke!

Love what is happening with the papers behind the face; I am sure they will be covered more when you are done but right now my impression is these are all random colorful thoughts she is thinking!
I have not had bleeding hearts for years; I love them, and am anxiously awaiting my violets to bloom--three varieties: purple, a french blue and a white with purple center. I don't know where they all came from but I cannot complain!
And the furbabies just wanted to get their dose of daily Om too..... ;)
    Have a good one!!!

    XXOO!!

  5. She has lovely kind eyes doesn't she? I'm trying to paint a face on a mermaid at the momnet and she just looks mean and sulky! I need to change her yet again I think.xx

  7. Love the emerging face and am green with envy about your bleeding hearts, they are impossible to grow in our climate and I love them sooooo.
No wonder your friends joined you for yoga ... they could feel the energy even from upstairs.

    Enjoy your beautiful spring.

    Hugs Arija

  8. Pretty bleeding hearts. I saw yesterday that ours are just starting to emerge.

As to the yoga mat, our little companions do know how to hone in one a brand new resting spot don't they? It's like some sort of sixth sense that they posses.:)

I can't wait to see the finished painting, I love the background.

  10. I love the background of your new painting - the colors are so very rich. My dogs go crazy when I try and exercise. One time, Willow (our oldest) jumped off the bed and landed right on my stomach! That wasn't very much fun. At least I was working on my stomach muscles that day! They seem to enjoy trying to jump on me and lick me on the face whenever I'm on the floor - they think I'm playing with them! LOL Have a great day - Theresa

  12. Everything is so so pretty! Gets too hot and dry here for bleeding hearts, but trust me, I have tried to grow them! I love your new path of painting on the papers. The last photo made me laugh out loud! Just tooooo cute. My little chihuahuas like to climb on TOP of me when I get out the mat to exercise. Fur babies are so sweet. **kisskiss** Deb

  13. Oh, I love the bleeding hearts bush and the little violets are one of my favorites. Isn't that just like pets, having to by right in your face? They figured you're getting down with them for some quality time...he, he, he...see? they just love you too much :-)
    Have a great day!

  15. AHAHAHAHAHA!!! Oh, that is too MUCH! Awww, your pets love you. Somewhere in there, there's a joke about downward dog, I'm sure.

Beautiful face peeking through! With all those bright colors behind her, she's already got an exotic feel to her.

    Yay, bleeding hearts!

  16. Hi, Silke! Ahh, your yoga story had me laughing! My cat always thinks I'm trying to play when I'm doing my workout video in the morning. She loooves to get in the way.

Your flowers are so gorgeous--I have a few tulip greens bravely peeking out, but that's it so far. Our snow has barely melted!

    Have a wonderful day.

  20. Hello Silke! I love this post - a little bit of everything! Looking forward to seeing how your painting develops - its intriguing! I like the way you use all those different papers as a base. Ah, our furry friends think we do these things for their amusement and are always there to lend a paw in our daily routine!
