This is a smaller part of a larger painting. I showed it to Daniel the other night and he told me he couldn't wait to see what I was going to do with it. Well, I have no idea! It's sort of a study of five women's faces and I don't know at all if at the end it will look in any way cohesive. We'll all find out, I guess...
In the meantime, we still have family visiting and I am nursing a cold, which is the reason I haven't been visiting you as much lately! Next week, I should have a little more time and energy again. I have missed you all!! It's amazing how much you have become an important part of my daily life. Thank you!!
Silke, it is GREAT---just let it simmer and then guide you.
ReplyDeleteAlmost everyone I know has a cold now; do take extra care of yourself. Seems these things have settled in and don't leave easily.
I am with Danial...can't wait to see how this turns out!!!
XXOO!!
Anne
Hey Silke, I hope your cold goes away very quickly!
ReplyDeleteThis painting is looking very interesting so far - it is always a great surprise when the piece is finished and you see where you ended up at - I can't wait to see it at the end!
PS we are both sitting on 237 followers at the same time - how weird is that :D
Love that part of the painting - do show us the end result!!
ReplyDeleteI am really looking forward to seeing how this piece turns out and hope you are feeling better soon. Those darn spring colds. Every time I leave a comment on your blog Winslow stares at me, he is doing a great job as comment moderator...Ramses too.:)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Daniel -- can't wait to see what you do with it! I love this course you're on with your art.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you've been under the weather. Hope you feel better soon! ☺
It is wonderful. I bet they will look incredible together.
ReplyDeleteI just recovered from a sinus infection. I missed being able to visit everyone as much too:)

ReplyDeleteEEEEEEK! These colors are divine!!! I can see these in a gallery with great light and white walls!!!! Silke I know I am biased cause I love all things spring colors, but, the life of these is amazing!!!! Keep it up and feel better dear. Plus, I can't find your address in my cluttery world, could you re-send it to me and Monday I will try to get you your painting off to you. Blessed days dear one. You can do anything!!!!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, Silke! Catch up with us when you can! :) The new painting is looking quite lovely. Theresa
ReplyDeletesilke, i love this. it is one of my favorites. it actually looks complete already to me. her head reminds me of a brave woman with cancer (and we certainly know a few women who are nothing but brave). and i love how you have incorporated other faces.
ReplyDeletedon't worry about visiting. enjoy your family and have fun. i;ll see you again after my own vacation.
xoxo

ReplyDeleteHi Silke, goodness I do hope that you start to feel better soon! I just got released again from the hospital, I guess just when I think I'm going to start to get better, I'm really not. But I'm hanging in there and very happy to be home again and to be able to be here to visit with you!
ReplyDeleteYour painting is beautiful just the way it is now, all the faces, the colors, just so inspiring! But now I can't wait to see what you end up doing with this gorgeous piece of Art! You're so talented that I know it will be amazing!

Say WHAT? This is a work in progress? I'd say, my dear Silke, you are DONE! You have metamorphed yet again. After the rich finger play of your pastel work, I see your acyrlics look deeper, richer. Perhaps it's the fantastic layers and colors in the background. Maybe your colors are more vibrant. I can't quite pin it down, but you've evolved yet again, and these are absolutely wonderful! They FEEEEEEL like spring, don't they? They are celebratory. They are free and joyful! I love the other faces peeking out, not visible until you look deeper, and then the image shifts. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon, dear.
ps. Your cookbook is a priceless heirloom! WOW
I'm with Bella on this one. I think your piece is absolutely stunning as it is right now! Beautiful! Feel better : )
ReplyDeleteWow just had a nice look around between the rhubarb pie and your art. Love your work just beautiful. Just found you...
