Niagara Falls

Our first morning in Niagara Falls, the heavens opened up with thunder, lightening and pouring rain. We were brave and decided to go for a walk anyway, which was something else. I went back to the hotel once I was drenched, but Daniel and his sister Sue stuck it out and went to see all the sights...

I love this picture of the two of them!

And then, just in time, the sun came out and everything was perfect for the outdoor wedding. I could show you all kinds of great family photos, but for most of you that might be a little boring. So, here is the happy couple - our niece, Jill (the daughter of Daniel's oldest brother, who sadly passed away five years ago), and her husband, Brian.
On the way to the reception, we were able to see the falls one more time in the sunshine. Simply breathtaking.
Daniel's sister and her two handsome sons.

At the reception, goofing around in the buffet line. Looks like my halo slipped. Oooops...
One family photo with some (not nearly all) of the Powers clan.
What fun we had!

I hope you aren't bored yet with pictures from our road trip, because I have some more to show you tomorrow...

P.S. I should mention, because some of you have commented on it, that we went to the Canadian side of the falls on our last visit many years ago. Then, we stayed in Canada and explored that whole region. This time, we wanted to experience the American side, which we actually loved. The feeling of being right on top of the falls was intoxicating! Both sides are worth visiting!!

  1. Not bored at all. I love road trip photos. Too bad you didn't cross over to the Canadian side to see the Falls from there.
What a lovely couple of couples - your niece and her husband and you and yours.

  5. What a beautiful family! I'm so glad the weather cleared up for the wedding. It looks like everyone had such a good time.

Your photos of the falls are gorgeous! I must agree with Dolores, though, the Canadian side is even more spectacular - and there are lovely small wine-country towns, like Niagara-on-the-Lake just a short drive away. Maybe you'll get a chance the next time you're in the area. It's a good excuse to go back, if you're looking for one.
