Crepe Myrtles

One of the most prolific and varied trees here in the South is the crepe myrtle. Every spring and summer they remind us of lilacs except that they don't smell as good. here are just a few we see on our walks with Winslow. Some looks like bushes, others are big trees, and the colors range from white to purple with every shade of pink in between!

Hope you are having a good evening (or morning depending on where you live)!

  2. Those are really incredible bushes, the flora in you area is so unusual to us. The truth is, I had to see if a crepe myrtle was another one of your fabulous dishes. I am still thinking of the sweet potato salad and peach pie...I so love peach pie. I, like you, love food in general. Ah, peach pie.

  6. Thanks, all, for your lovely thoughts. Yes, these trees/bushes are beautiful!

And, Mr. H, I wish they were edible. I see what you are saying about it being possible it was a recipe. Now you've made me hungry for crepes...
