Until the other day, that is, when I cut out a sewing pattern and right away decided to use some of the leftover pieces of that very fine tissue paper on this canvas. After I crumpled up the paper and then glued it on, I gave the whole canvas a wash in blues and oranges.
Now it is waiting for just the right woman portrait to appear on it...
That's really lovely as it is - I like the addition of the tissue paper and those washes - but I am also looking forward to seeing who you put in there!
ReplyDeleteFantastic background. love the mix of papers.
ReplyDelete♥I love your talent♥
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny how something will sit until just the *right* thing comes along? I love running pattern tisseu through the printer, and also stamping on it before collaging with it. Makes for some interesting areas.
ReplyDeleteOne of the problems I encounter sometimes is I have this marvelous paper, and collage it all down, and then don't want to go to the next step which will cover it! LOL!!
XXOO!!

ReplyDeleteGood morning Silke!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I love that background. It made me think of Paul Klee...and anything that does that is fabulous in my eyes!
I could almost see some geometric shapes transposed on it in a more opaque form.
But...
That's not why I was visiting this morning!

It will make a good start to your week!

ReplyDeleteSilke - what a beautiful combination of colors and such a creative use of the tissue from paterns. I have a creative use for the pattern tissues also - I make tissue paper roses from them. I have some on my blog in a week or so.

Beautiful combination of colors! And the patterns bring a wonderful lightheartedness to it. Whoever ends up on this will be a very lucky lady.
ReplyDeleteSilke.... The color and texture of this background is stunning. I almost hate to see any part of it get covered ~ it is a work of art all alone. I am sure, though, that once you paint one of your women on it, it will be even more beautiful ~ you have a way of letting the background beauty show through!!
