Poise

Do you remember this image transfer background I had posted a few days ago? Well, today, I worked on it some and came up with this little 5x7 painting, which I truly love. I can't believe I made this...

I am calling it "Poise" as I always admire the poise and grace of the egrets around here. I've been seeing lots of them lately and must be - as my good friend, Beth, commented on an earlier post - in my egret phase. So, be prepared to see a few more. They fascinate me with their graceful beauty...

  3. Ooooh you should give a bit of a tutorial, so we can appreciate even more, if possible, this amazing piece. I love the depth. It looks mixed media? The bird is exquisite. You are gifted. Blessings.

  4. super nice piece, the layers of the background look wonderful, and I like the way the bird isn't entirely painted in

  5. Thank you all for your lovely comments! Sarah, I did paint the bird in all the way at first, but then distressed it with some rubbing alcohol on a paper towel - I love the way it turned out! A total experiment and so much fun! :-) Silke

  6. Wow, you've been busy! I missed a few days, came back and had all kinds of things to catch up on. :)

Love all the backgrounds ~ I sometimes get stuck in that stage, loving the background so much I don't want to put anything over it. The Egret is really beautiful too. Looks like you're having fun!
