A Work in Progress...

Oh, this is so much fun!! Yesterday I played with a clay board I had found and did some gel medium image transfers. I had gotten the idea from watching Milliande's great video for producing weathered backgrounds. Actually, the transfers were much too good, so I had to distress them a bit and might have to do some more of that. And the colors in the uploaded picture are a bit more muted than the actual colors. It's a bit garish and I like it! Now to figure out what to use this background for...

Daniel and I have been getting ready to plant some seeds for herbs, fruits, and veggies to sprout them indoors. We've got several kinds of heirloom tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, zucchini, basil, parsley, muskmelon, and lima beans.

A few weeks ago, I sprouted some castor beans before putting them outside (they are doing very well) and took some time-lapse photos which I made into this fun little video.

I love spring time with all it's beauty, freshness, and promises! Don't you?!

  2. Hi Silke,

I finally had a chance to add the award you gave me to my blog. I am sorry it took so long but I just finished with a big Etsy update. Wish me luck. Thank you so much!

  4. Hi Silke,
I'm still learning how to post on this site, etc., so I guess the previous comment I e-mailed to you whereas I could have just put it here. Anyway, I finally got my computer cleaned and healthy again so I could actually peruse your blog. It is very wonderful--the images and the writing. I hope you don't mind I right-clicked and saved your profile photo. I wanted a closeup shot of you to put in my dream/sending love book. How big are most of your paintings?--just trying to visualize the "real world" thing. I absolutely love your color, design, rhythm, motifs--everything. I am so proud of you and glad to know you! Thank you for sharing! Linda Rae
