I've been working most of the day on this pretty angel and love how she looks, especially her sweet face. She went through many lives and color combinations before I settled on these colors. I haven't varnished it yet because I am not sure that she is finished (I am not sure at all about the "heart" word on the left). I'll let her sit overnight and see, but wanted to post her as is tonight. If any of you have any suggestions or if you think she is done, please let me know! I always appreciate your feedback as I am learning to paint!!
I did this painting on a piece of wood I found in our garage and was going to paint a really tall bird on. Instead I did the background and then felt like painting this angel instead. Funny how that works...
Aside from her, I am working on a piece that will be a special gift for a birthday in my family and prepared another image-transfer background for another painting I will hopefully get to work on tomorrow. I can't believe it took me all these years to start making art... Now I feel like I am making up for lost time - it's all I want to do anymore! So much fun!!
I just can't get over how fast you have developed your own style! I like this sweet angel. I see what you mean about the word heart... hmmmm... is it needed, I wonder?
ReplyDeleteI also had the word "wing" in there, but didn't like the placement and took it out. I might take the "heart" word out as well. It made more sense with "heart" and "wings."
ReplyDeleteI love the color combination the red hair against the beautiful purple/pink background.
ReplyDeleteWow, Silke - she's beautiful! Such a lovely face. I love the balance of her hair partly in front & partly in back and the colors...it's all just wonderful.

ReplyDeleteI love this angel. She is gentle and loving. The background colors have something heavenly and her blouse/dress have something earthly. That's why she feels so harmonious. I don't know about 'heart' either. With her presence she conveys a message, but what...? Also, I long to see the rest of her. Another great job Silke:-)
this is beautiful...I like the "heart" in the corner :)
ReplyDeleteYour garden flowers are so wonderful....we're not really blooming yet in NH except for daffodils :)
very very beautiful. She looks so serene.
ReplyDeleteThe wings are so lite and feathery....I am sure she can fly!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe wings are lovely! They look soft, yet, strong. She is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Silke, the Elephant is made with foam core and covered in pewter, How do you like Savannah? I have always wanted to visit? Seems so romantic except are there lots of big bugs???
