Just a couple of days ago, I was wondering about Etsy and how I used to sell so much more on eBay. And then this weekend ... I sold Brave Girl, who is going to travel to her new home in Utah tomorrow. Bon voyage!
And then these dishclothsand my first pot holders with a matching dishcloth! All of those will be mailed to Wisconsin tomorrow. Such a great surprise!
Now, a couple of shows we've been enjoying while Daniel is recovering. We made sure we have a big supply of DVDs from our library and from Netflix.
If you haven't seen No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency yet, we both highly recommend it. I was never able to get into the books, but the series is a feast for the senses and so entertaining:
A friend had recommended that we watch The Natural History of the Chicken, a PBS documentary. It's wonderful - quite educational and sweet, and some parts are just plain bizarre and funny, for example "mouth to beak resuscitation" - need I say more?! Definitely worth watching!
Cluck, cluck, cluck...
Missed that one on PBS! Wish I hadn't. Love you painting...congrats to that new owner.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your sales!!! I watched the trailer and I would watch that show just to listen to their accents! **kisskiss** Deb
ReplyDeleteI finally have some time to visit - my you've been busy! Congrats on the sales! And I'm so glad Daniel's surgery went well.
ReplyDeleteLast night I made the Armenian Kabob recipe you posted recently - delicious! I made them with lamb - that's our kind of food! Yum!!!!
:0)
Love all the new ladies you've been painting, too.
Hugs and love,

Congrats on the sales. I bet it has a lot more to do with the recession than the venue.
ReplyDeleteWell done Silke, congratulations :-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the sales. It's always so nice isn't it?
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Silke!!! So amazing! The items you sold are beautiful, and I'm so happy they are on their way to their happy new homes! {{{hugs}}} Theresa :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm so happy for you Silke. It's such a big lift to find something's sold on Etsy, isn't it? It's so encouraging and it fuels you to continue on...I'm sure you'd paint anyway, just like I would continue crocheting if nothing ever sold, but it sure is a nice shot in the arm. Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThat clip is very entertaining, only I don't have HBO (nor any TV) and watch everything online (including Netflix) - I'll have to check the PBS website and find that chicken movie...I saw some of it on You Tube where she talked about resuscitating her chicken (with mouth to beak) and then kept her in the house in an old play pen. She said the chicken loved it in there, especially watching TV (he, he, he)...my Oma had a pet chicken when she was a girl in Berlin and she took it for a walk on the sidewalk (in the city) with a string tied to its leg...can you imagine the looks she got?
Yay..isnt that wonderful how the universe answers our thoughts and ponderings!! yay..I loved that painting..I saw her as Amelie..may she find joy wherever she goes! Congrats! I am enjoying all yoru series of paintings you ahve been posting..all super beautiful!
ReplyDeleteKiki~
Isn't watching netflex just the most perfect thing? I LOVE this! The Laies detective agency is on my list. I am hooked right now on so many old PBS series - right now watching Fowles War - fabulous. We must talk about our favorites! Enjoy this chance to be a couch potato!

Congrats on your Etsy sale! :) Potholders are looking pretty.
ReplyDeleteSilke, I'm glad that the beautiful Brave Girl will be enjoyed by a new friend. Your potholders and dish cloths are such a nice, colorful touch for the kitchen. When I lived in K'zoo, I had a friend there that used to give me dish cloths like that, and I know that they work really well. As for entertainment, I just watched Music & Lyrics (Hugh Grant and Drew Barrymore) for the 2nd time. I had forgotten how funny it is! I don't often laugh out loud at movies, but this one was cracking me up.
ReplyDeleteHere's to art and laughter! May we all enjoy a colorful week.
