Today is a special day! My best friend from Kindergarten is coming to visit us from Germany for the next week! I am so excited! We've been best friends for 40 years and have never lost touch. Even if we haven't talked in a while, we always have that special connection where we call just at the right moment. Do you know what I mean? Our friendship also extended to our mothers, who were best friends as well. Sadly, they both passed away many years ago. Such friendships are rare and I treasure this one as well as all the other incredible friends I have! I am a very lucky woman!
As to the photos, we are around 10 or 11 in the picture above - I can't believe our mothers let us go out in public like that! Growing up, I was always the short one - well, that changed when I was about 15 and grew a whole lot. The photo below, we took last summer when I was in Germany and we revisited the special places of our childhood.
I can't wait to have a whole week with her to visit, talk, giggle, and get all caught up on life, love and everything else! Here's to good friends!
How beautiful you both look!

ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to have such a friend as that. I've lost touch with everyone I knew when I was little. I think that is so neat you are still best friends.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing in the world like a girlfriend who has known you forever! I am so happy for you, being able to spend such a wonderful week together. Have a lovely time~
