New Knitting...

Well, first of all, dear friends, thank you, thank you, thank you for all your great comments on my first vlog! That was fun, wasn't it? I was amazed by how I wasn't nervous at all speaking to you on camera, but I think it's because I feel like I know you all. I was just talking to my friends... Anyway, stay tuned as I am sure I'll do that again!
Now, to get you just a little bit caught up on what I've been knitting for my little etsy store (and there's much more to share when I get the photos taken), here a couple of new items. You have to excuse the clunky self portrait - maybe Daniel can take a better picture this weekend.

Well, I love this boucle yarn and made a warm scarf from it and a matching beret. When I had them knit, I thought they could do with a little embellishment, so I crocheted a flower from chenille yarn for the hat and added pretty crocheted borders to the scarf. Aren't they fun?!
And then I discovered this very unusual yarn from Italy - it is part felted wool, part mohair and part boucle yarn and knits up in these gorgeous stripes in different shades of red, pink and burgundy with different textures in each stripe - beautiful! It sure was difficult taking pictures that accurately reflect the amazing colors in this scarf, but this comes close.
I've been busy, haven't I?! Click here to visit my store and see more pictures of each of these.

Have a wonderful Friday, everyone! I'll be busy knitting this morning...and maybe painting this afternoon... Ahhhh, life is good! I hope for you, too!!

  2. These are beautiful Silke! I love the combination of the colors with the chenille yarn! BTW...what chenille yarn do you use? I was using a chenille by lion brand and they don't make it anymore. :(

Sounds like you have a wonderfully creative day ahead! Enjoy! :)

  15. I love boucle yarn, but for the life of me, I can't crochet with it and must use it for knitting, because the stitches just melt into each other... all part of it's charm. It looks so soft and comfy. What lovely item you knitted with that scrumptious yarn ;-) Have you worked with Chenille? It's marvelous too...

Enjoy your weekend - I love this weather too :-)

  17. Silke these are so so beautiful! I love the colors and textures- so imaginative! I am crazy about hats- I must give you my favorite pattern to make. You are filling your shop up with so many lovely creations- how wonderful for you!

We are hoping for some sunshine tomorrow- trapped in our room for last 3 days- eating only French baguettes and cheese. Someday I know I will laugh about this---

  19. Mmm, I'm sure that's really soft wrapped up around the chin like that. That shade of blue would look fabulous against a grey winter sky, no? Gorgeous! And I LOVE chenille. So soft and fuzzy and rich in color.

You know, one of my first thoughts when I saw your video was how comfortable you were. I thought, wow, she should have her own TV show!

Have a wonderful weekend, Beautiful Silke!
