More Experiments...

Thanks for all your great comments on my little experiments. Here are a couple more. I'm having fun to just play with patterns, texture and color. This one has the most scrumptious colors, even richer than this scan.
This next little painting features mostly colors that I usually don't paint with. I tried out some new stamps I got and like the sort of weathered look I achieved when it was finished. The ink smudged a bit and I like it!
Do any of you work with distress inks? I haven't yet and I wonder if I'd like them. Any thoughts?

  1. Hi Silke, Oh my, they're both so beautiful! I love the colors in your top painting, I can just imagine how much deeper and richer the colors are in person.
Then your next painting, well all I can say is that it's just so beautiful! The colors are perfect for the Fall and with those leaves, wow Silke, both of these paintings are just amazing!
I hope that you have a wonderful weekend!
    Hugs and and much love...

  2. wow, silke, you are really really talented. i am not just saying this. you use color and texture and repetition (whatever that means) so well and everything is balanced to the eye just so.

these are stamps? on what surface, may i ask?

i've said this before, but again it is so great to see you finding and creating and uncovering yourself.

  3. i absolutely love these!!!!! the first one with that vibrant, gor-juss green color....swooooooon!!!

i have only used the distressed ink pads on some of my paintings around the edges to give it almost a framed look....easy to just rub up and down the canvas although it does take a while to dry.

love you and wishing you a happy saturday!

  5. WOW, Silke! You've been playing! Sorry to hear about your toe, though. I love how you are constantly stretching and discovering and creating. You are quite prolific. If it's not the painting, it's the knitting and the cooking. Oh, I'm so impressed with you! These are true beauties, your ladies and stampings. The mix of colors and form are beautiful! Have a wonderful weekend!
