Illustration Friday - Detective

She considered herself a detective of all things beautiful.
(ATC on vellum bristol board, 2.5. x 3.5 inches)

I am really enjoying this challenge of working so small on the ATC paper. I'm also having fun combining some of my stamps and stencils with my women portraits.

Thank you all for your very thoughtful comments yesterday! I just love this community we have here...

Today, we are spending the day on Sapelo Island and I'm sure I'll have lots of photos to share with you tomorrow!!

  2. Hi Silke,
The leaf stamps make a great effect on your paintings.
This lady has a beautiful face and makes me think of the Roman goddess, Diana the huntress of the forest.
I really like the soft focus textures and colours.
I hope you have enjoyed your trip to Sapelo Island. Have a good weekend.
    Love Jo.xx

  5. silke, you are going to have such fun with your ATC's. they are so fun to create and just as fun to share and mail. i think the artsy abc soul sisters are waiting for you--you can check them out at studio lolo's or caroline's etc.

  8. You're going to LUUUUUUUUV doing these......
And I find working small makes me really think about the necessary as opposed to the *maybe's* and *want to's*. It is a good art exercise.
    Lovely....as usual!!!

  17. Mmmm! Something about the texture of the brushstrokes and the pale stamps give this lady a romantic, ephemeral quality. Beautiful! Enjoy your day on the Island!

  20. Yours is a lovely ATC! I really like how you placed the face on an angle. I also love all of the texture from the stamping and the brush marks going across her face. It's a challenging medium since it is so tiny, but you are obviously up to the challenge!
