A little update...

Well, I haven't checked in in almost a week and thought I should give you a little update.
So, here's what happened. I was watering outside the other day and did a little not so graceful not so planned dance (that's putting it kindly - it was more like stumble and fall and hope that nobody saw me...) and sprained my left ankle. That sure slowed down my life having to spend a lot of time with my foot up and iced. Luckily, it's already feeling better.
You'd think I'd find lots of time to blog that way, but somehow it zapped me of my energy. What it did do is get me back into my knitting and get out some yarns from my stash to play with.
At this stage I am still staring the skeins to figure out how I'll combine them and what I'll make with them. Love those colors!
In the meantime, I've made good progress on this sweater for Daniel. Once I understood this rather complicated pattern, I didn't have to count so much anymore and it is going a lot faster and is much more fun!
And...I've been going to class to work on my drawing. We had an extension for it and it's still not finished, but here's a little detail of it to show you what I'm working on. A few more hours and it should be all done and then I'll show you the whole drawing...
Tomorrow, Daniel is coming to my class to do a watercolor demo for us - our next drawings will be done in watercolor, a medium I haven't worked with before. Wish me luck!!

And I wish you a great weekend and hope that you are all doing well!!

  1. I'm sorry about your ankle, but the yarn is beautiful, as is your pencil sketch. Watercolor with Daniel... brings back good (and not so good) memories. "TJ things would go much better if you planned before starting to paint" and "maybe you should think about limiting your color palette?" :)

  2. Sorry about your ankle. Hope you're feeling better soon. Glad to hear you were taking care of yourself and getting plenty of rest.

Love those yarn colors! And Daniel's sweater is going to be beautiful. You are so talented! It's wonderful to visit your blog and see what you've been creating. Your latest sketch is fantastic. Wow!

Have fun and good luck with the watercolors.

    Much love,

  5. Oh No!! I'm so sorry to hear about the ankle! I'm sure that was aggravating...to say the least! I've had sprains and broken legs. The sprains were always more painful somehow. And more aggravating to deal with on a day to day basis. I hope it gets much better for you...In the meantime, enjoy your art and your fibers. I love those blue colors!!...Have a good weekend too!

  7. So sorry about your ankle, hope it is healing. Your yarn colors are lovely, are those the colors you are knitting for Daniel, if so the sweater will look good with his eyes.

  10. oh dear silke, that's a scary thing to happen, i hope you'll be good as new soon.

i do understand how a trauma like this can interfere with things, although i had my injuries (knee and ankle) before blogging, i couldn't do much but knit either.

    take good care dear!
