Stormy Tybee Beach

We went to Tybee beach for just a little bit this afternoon to see the effects of Hurricane Irene passing well to the east of us.
It was warm, windy, rainy at times and aside from experienced surfers, nobody was allowed in the water.
The waves were amazing!!
And while waiting to pay for parking, I discovered these colorful beauties in someone's back yard. They look like they should be a painting, don't you think?
To all of you who will be in the path of this huge storm, I hope you, your loved ones and your homes will stay safe!

I'll be thinking of you!!

  1. I just saw Tybee island on an HGTV show last night!! It looked beautiful and the houses were all adorable!!! I'm putting it on my list of places to go someday!!! Glad the storm is missing you!!!

  2. Thanks for your kind wishes, Silke. We are expecting the hurricane sometime Sunday afternoon. It is amazing how beautiful the water looks, though, when it is stormy. I hope you have a good weekend!

  4. So glad you're not in the line of fire...being at a distance and seeing the weather is interesting, but being in the path....*shiver*
Love the last photo; what color! What decay! Lovely!

  5. The stormy weather does not take away the beauty of this place!
