Drawing Class - WIP

Click on the drawing to see more detail if you want.
Yesterday, our professor scheduled an extra help session with our latest project (and believe me, I need extra help!). We all met at Forsyth Park and I made some good progress on this perspective drawing. We are working on one-point and atmospheric perspective.

Can I just say that this takes such a long time!! Such a very, very long time!!! At this point, I am getting some of the bigger areas worked on, such as the never-ending azalea bushes and the many oak trees covered with gobs of swaying Spanish moss.... And then I have to go in and change some of the values to have more dark and light.

All I can say is that I'm going to spend a good bit more time at the park to get this finished. We have one more class on Monday working on this and then it's due Wednesday. Of course, I'll share the finished piece with you... Wish me patience!

I'm planning to visit your blogs this weekend. I tried yesterday and still had trouble with leaving comments. I hope it's all fixed now...

Wishing you a fantastic weekend!!

  1. It's fun to see your work in progress. Good luck with it! It does seem like a ton of work. But you'll get it done, and it'll be great I'm sure.

  7. Well, it's a great excuse to spend some time outside. Wow, lots of detail already. I can tell that all the moss and bushes and leaves would drive me crazy, but you are doing such a fine job! Can't wait to see the finished product!

And wow for your second emergence! I love the color combo!!!

  8. I always like drawing or painting in plein aire! I just love being outside, although I end up sleeping. Yes, I did that in S. Carolina. I feel asleep like ahomeless person. Hahahah! Ooooh! playing with light! Nice.

  10. Oh Beautiful One, how you are growing by leaps and bounds, and to think that this incredible talent was always within you, from the very beginning, patiently waiting for you to discover yourself. YOU are a work of art! **sigh** my inspiration.
