Do you remember the canvas I had prepared with some torn paper? (Click here to see it again.) Well, this is the end result. I couldn't come up with a name for it. Any suggestions?
I worked a lot with torn paper and acrylic washes that I sprayed with water and allowed to drip and flow. I love the painting - somehow it feels energetic, passionate and calming all at the same time.
Thanks for all your great comments on my bird from yesterday. I loved painting it!
And there's more art... Tomorrow! I promise!!!

Oh Silke, this turned out wonderful---I love that feeling of a mountain, the sun breaking through the clouds and shining on a holy place--a vision, somewhere to make a pilgrimage to.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful....dynamic yet relaxing. :-)
XXOO~~♥

I agree with Anne -- I can see the mountain very clearly. In some ways, it almost looks like a volcano with the red flowing out of and around it. I am not good at naming artwork. You would think I would be, but no -- I have the hardest time coming up with titles for my photographs -- so I am no help there.
ReplyDeleteinside the looking glass.....
ReplyDeleteit's awesome, Silke!!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful peice. I know what it reminds me of so I will go with ...Eminent Eruption.
ReplyDeleteWe have both worn your scarves almost every day this very cold week.:)
It looks great! I love the texture. I am enjoying watching you create these pieces. I love your colors!
ReplyDeleteoh Silke!!! I love this new piece...I am really loving these latest pieces....so full of texture...and the colours!!! wow!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can see a lot of things in there, even some faces still only partly revealed. The composition and the colours are gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI'm really enjoying this piece, it reminds me of some sort of birds eye view. It is very deep and layered, I'll bet it is even better IRL. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully rich colors! Great work. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, Silke, mir gefällt die neue - mehr abstrakte - Richtung. Und wie wäre es mit "floating clouds" als Name?
ReplyDeletePositively gorgeous, Silke The colors & texture are amazing. I like Transparent Mountain.
ReplyDeleteTHIS is stunning...I love the layering and colours.

OOOoooo am I seeing fiber paper? I use something like that in my scrapbooks...when the edges are wet, I like to tear them off and the paper makes a feathery edge. Is that the same stuff? I got VERY excited when I enlarged your picture, seeing all the texture and I love the writing on the red paper. YES YES Anne, I see a mountain illuminate, and a flower blooming in the lower left corner. Rivers and clouds. Holy Ground.

Wow..this may be one of my favorites now...this really captures me on many levels and dimensions...this feels so vibratory..sensory and imaginative...if a painting could Bloom?...then this is it!
ReplyDeleteMagnificent! it is alive!
Bravo!!!
Wow, I love the bold colors. If I had to name that painting, I'd call it "Volcano skies" - very powerful painting, I think!
ReplyDeleteThe painting is lovely, Silke. The colors are very subtle and muted - yet there is a definite sense of movement. Great work!!! Theresa
ReplyDeleteLoving all your abstract art! This is so colourful!
