More Art

Tapestry 
mixed media painting on 11 x 14 inch wrapped canvas

There's a lot of texture in this piece - different papers of different thicknesses and layers of paint. In the end, the richness of the color, the gold and the texture reminded me of a tapestry. And then there seems to be a big bird. Daniel asked if I had painted a duck...

I'm working on two more art journal entries and on my next painting already. And I hope to visit you all in the next couple of days!! I must find out what you've been up to...

    You know, I didn't even see the bird until I read your words. It looks like one of my dad's antique decoys! This is such a vibrant piece. And I like the contrast of the red and black. Very nice indeed! Can't wait to see what else you're working on.

    I saw all the red texture first, then saw the bird shape. Funny how things happen as we work, and occasionally I'll find I have to photograph a piece to really *See* what I have in it.
    Love the colors and the contrast~~very nice!

    Ah, I didn't see Daniel's duck until I enlarged it...I was too busy investigating all the reds and orange. I like watching you expand your artistic horizons. Quite exciting. **kisses** Deb

    Silke, it's a lovely painting! I DO see a bird silhouette. Maybe it was a result of all the amazing wildlife you saw on your recent trip. Looking forward to seeing more of your journal pages soon! Theresa

    Very nice! I didn't see the duck at first, and I like that I didn't.
    I bet the picture doesn't do the painting much justice with all its textures.
