Before family starts arriving tomorrow, I thought I'd check in and say hello. My blogging is going to be sporadic at best over the next 10 days or so, but you can be sure I'll be thinking about you all and making notes of all I want to tell you about...
Isn't this toad wonderful? Well, if you like toads, that is... We do! And this one was watching Daniel as he planted some flowers by our mail box.
On the bird front, I've been having the most fun with a pair of wrens who apparently love our house - from the inside. I can't leave the door to the backyard open at all right now because they fly right in and keep me company. Even when I try to usher them outside (I have a feeling they are looking for nesting spots), they are never in a hurry to leave. So cute!
Well, friends, I will try to visit when I can, but in the meantime you can be sure that you are always on my mind and I'll be back soon with much to share! I hope all is going well for you in your lives!!
Viel. Spaß mit Deiner Familie. Und ich würde zu gerne Fotos von Deinen Zaungästen sehen:-)
ReplyDeleteThat little toad really does look very interested in the planting. We had a pair of wrens that made a nest in one of the hanging flower pots on our front porch and they just scolded us like crazy whenever we tried to sit on our porch swing. They are very bossy for such tiny birds!!
ReplyDeletesilke, wishing you and daniel and your company family a wonderful time. ♥

Gotta love that toad Silke. Enjoy your family visit. Take care.
ReplyDeleteHi Silke,
ReplyDeleteI had a pair of Carolina Wrens last spring make a home in my hanging flower basket by our garage.
One of the babys had fallen out and no sign
of Mom and Dad and the other siblings had already left the nest. The poor little thing was so dehydrated...I carefully gave it some
fluids from a dropper and put it back in it's nest in the basket and later that day the parents came back and were feeding it again.
I was told that the young ones jump out of their nests and can live in the grass for up to two weeks and the parents can find them and still feed them.
I love your garden frog!! I love those little froggys so much!
Enjoy your time with your guests!
We will be here when you come back.
Hugs,
susan
