Kumquat Marmalade

Every year, our little kumquat tree produces more and more fruit. This year there is so much that I decided to make kumquat marmalade. I found a super easy microwave recipe at RecipeGirl (click here) and gave it a try.
It was as easy as it looked.
And the result? A jar of delicious kumquat marmalade that will keep in the fridge for a couple of months.

Not that it will last that long...

  7. Ooohhhhh, Silke, this looks SO good. I'm not sure what kumquat tastes like, but anything that looks this pretty in color has to be good. I am going to have to try kumquat sometime.
    Have a beautiful day!

  11. That looks yummy! I tore a loquat tree out of my yard last year. It was fairly large & an established tree but....the messiest tree I have ever had! My husband loved them but I really didn't care for them. I also have a limequat tree. I loved your flowere pics!

  12. Silke - this beautiful post made me cry - seriously. One of my favorite things to do was to visit my parents when they wintered in Florida. My father had a kumquat tree in the yard of their home there that was his pride and joy. Every March- I would visit with them and I would make a big batch of kumquat and orange marmelade using the fruit from their trees in the yard. I would give up 10 years of my life that I love so much - to be able to do that just one more time~~
