Wintery Snapshots from Germany

This morning, my dad took a walk through snowy Münster, my hometown, to take some pictures for Daniel and me, particularly of the yearly Christmas Market. I thought you might enjoy seeing these as well.

The Christmas Market is an old established December tradition where booths are set up throughout downtown and people offer their handmade crafts and gifts, food and drink. It's always fun and festive, but with a little bit of snow, it's even more magical!

There has to be food (good German sausages in this case)...
... and drink - hot mulled wine at this stand ...
... pretty nicknacks to admire and maybe purchase ...

... and of course a few fun rides for the little kids!
I hope you enjoyed this wintery stroll through Münster's Christmas Market! Wishing you all a lovely day!!

  5. I enjoyed my stroll immensely, especially my stop at the German sausage stand. I once had a real German sausage, and have had nothing but second rate sausage since...maybe that is why we no longer eat much meat.:) Anyway, your tour was very cheery and I enjoyed my walk through the Munster market.

    Merry Christmas!

  13. Hallo, liebe Silke!

How lovely to see pictures of our beautiful Germany! It's especially magical at Christmastime, isn't it?

While my parents now feel they are too old to visit Germany any more (this makes me so sad for them), they do manage to go to the German Christmas market in downtown Chicago every December. I've been there, too, and it's actually quite nice. Not like in Germany, but much closer for us here in Wisconsin.
    :0)
Thank you so much for all your sweet comments on my blog recently, dear friend! You are truly one of the loveliest people I've met through blogging, and I'm so very glad we've found each other.

Ich wünsche Dir und Daniel ein wunderschönes Weihnachtsfest und einen guten Rutsch ins neue Jahr.

    Alles, alles Liebe und Gute,
    xoxoxo

  14. Hi Silke. It looks beautiful over there and thanks so much for sharing the beauty with us. I just wanted to say Merry Christmas because I am on and off and want to be sure that my blogger friends know that I will be thinking of them. I hope you and your family have a great Christmas season. Take care.

  15. That market looks divine! I love the pics!!
Did the one sign say Christbaum Schmuck? My eyes aren't what they used to be, so who knows.
We wouldn't dare have a winter craft show like that around here. The wind chills and chance of blizzards are too high, nobody would show up! haha
Merry Christmas Silke! I've so enjoyed your company this past year in my blog journey!
    Hugs,
    Darla

  17. It's fun to get a peek at the market in your hometown. It reminds me just a tiny bit of the booths that spring up at Union Square in NYC each Christmas. I think you might have gotten me a gift at the German market once -- possible?

  24. This is wonderful Silke. It is just like the German Christmas market we have in Bath. It is held every year near the Abbey. I always call it the Fairy Market!;)
    Best wishes, Jo.x
