My Apologies...

I had every intention of writing a nice and substantial post, passing on a couple of awards and then this happened:

Apparently Ramses was in need of some serious TLC tonight and when he's on my lap there's no room for the laptop. So you will all have to wait until tomorrow... Sweet dreams!

  6. What a beautiful cat, Silke! We've learned from our Skitzi, too, that cats really run the household.

  7. What a delight it has been to journey through all your recent posts, Silke. I’ve been tearing around like a whirlwind lately, without time to spend long moments on my favourite blogs, but now I have turned the page of the calendar and July, with almost every day notated with ‘must do’ notes, is over and August’s page is almost clear. Yay!

Love the gorgeous photographs of Williamsburg and your painting for both the ‘Idle’ and ‘Whispers’ prompt is superb – it reminds me a little of one of my favourite artists, Armadeo Modigliani, in its gentle grace.

I also make my own muesli – it’s very similar to Daniel’s recipe, but I don’t bake mine first. I also add raisins and sultana and we usually eat it with chopped fresh fruit….whatever is in season.

Winslow looks so happy – lucky him to be a member of your family now! I wonder if he has a bit of Labrador in the gene mix as he loves water so much? Do he and Ramses get on well together, I wonder…

I’m going to try your delicious looking bread recipe next week – it looks positively scrumptious!

Thank you for sharing all those wonderful posts, Silke, I’ve enjoyed every moment of my ‘catch-up’.

  8. It happens to me too. Just when I want to get up to go get a cup of tea, or my book to read, Pixel or Digit come and lay down on my lap. I hate to move them and they usually don't stay for hours so I just let them be and stay put myself. Gotta love those cats to let us know what is important in our lives.

  9. Silke, that is a perfect way to spend an evening! Our kitties need us don't they! And if we "dis" them, oh boy, do we pay! (grin) PURR-fectly understandable to forsake the blog for a kitty! xo

  10. Really enjoy those times. Chester isn't comfortable in my lap anymore, so I have to sit on the floor and cuddle. He has lost all control of both hind legs so I try to scratch in all those places he usually did with his hind claws. He is such a sweetie and sadly, I know I'm losing him. He is eating and drinking a little but but has geat problems eliminating. I'm not sure how much longer I can watch this go on...it's no kind of life for him. I'm going to call the vet tomorrow...

  11. something similar has been happening over in madlycreative land - heatwave and taking care of Mom's dog has meant some furry friend time in the bowels of the house where both of us can chill off and even bed down for the evening. Needless to say, no internet and not a lot of blogging happening around here -
not much I can do about it - and looks like you didn't have much of a choice either!!

  12. Hi all, how fun to hear from all your cat lovers...you all understand that they really rule our lives. Actually, they are such good role models in teaching us how to relax and chill out!

Linda, I am so sorry to hear about your Chester! We went through this with our oldest dog, Moe. He, too, couldn't walk anymore at the end and it was heartbreaking. They do seem to let us know though when it's time... Sending all my love to you and Chester!!

    Love, Silke
