I called this painting "Angels Who Uplift Us." It reminds me of my family, friends and of this wonderful blogging community. Sometimes we are the ones needing to be uplifted and other times we get to be the angel who uplifts with a kind word, a small gesture or just by holding someone in our thoughts. Thank you for being my angels!
I added lots of texture to this with light molding paste and had fun painting it! I love the girls' sweet faces and general feeling of this painting. You can find it in my little store...
Thank you all for your great comments on my last painting and giving me a little insight into your creative flow. I so love hearing from you!
That brings me to a little frustration -- I truly admire those among you who answer every comment with a response on your blog. It really is what I want to do, but I'm trying to also have time to visit all of your blogs and leave comments there (it's one of my favorite things to do!). So, if I don't respond to all of your comments individually, please forgive me. And if I haven't visited your blog in a while, please give me a little nudge. Also, if I am not following your blog already, let me know.
I truly appreciate all of you ... and am working on the painting for my next giveaway to show my appreciation properly. Stay tuned!!
This is lovely - the painting and the sentiment - such a reflection of you!
ReplyDeleteSilke, I think the giving and sharing in the blogs happen because we find our kindred spirits, people who share our values, interests and dreams, support us and for the most part, are just like us, therefore it is very easy to return the favor or even initiate the favor! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteAw, so quick in submitting my comment. I notice that as I linger in the blogs, I am attracted to the blogs of more artists, illustrators, painters and photographers, people who create something. Sometimes, I am so sick and bored with lengthy dissertations, words are cheap and come by the dozens but give me art! However, I make exceptions for the truly gifted wordsmiths and people who have something wonderful to say and do it positively, they are my prized mental ninjas!
ReplyDeleteHi Silke, oh my goodness this is beautiful and what a fitting name and story..."Angels Who Uplift Us." When you said that "Sometimes we are the ones needing to be uplifted and other times we get to be the angel who uplifts with a kind word, a small gesture or just by holding someone in our thoughts. Thank you for being my angels" well that's so true and really is just how I feel to! Thank you Silke for being one of my Angels that uplift my spirits...thank you posting this, for saying the kind words that you did and that you do, and for painting this wonderful work of Art and all your gorgeous and beautiful pieces!
ReplyDeleteI hope that you have a great rest of your day!
Hugs...
Bobbi
What a beautiful thought and painting. You are so sweet Silke.
ReplyDeleteLove and hugs.
Such a lovely painting with a beautiful meaning behind it, Silke. You are such an angel, too! Blogland is lucky to have you.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about not having enough time to comment on everything and visit everyone more often. I feel overwhelmed by this, too, so I don't reply to most comments in my comment section. I don't have time to revisit every comment I've made to see if I've received a reply, and I don't think most people have time for that, either. I make every effort to go to their blog or to e-mail them, if I have their e-mail address. I'm still working on my strategy, but that seems to work for me right now.
By the way, I loved reptiles, as well as cats and dogs!
:0)
If you don't already have enough to do (hahaha!), you should join us on Blogland Lane, where you could build your fantasy house in a global cyber community.
Can't wait to see what you'll paint next!
Hugs,
Angela
Hi Silke!
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome any time! Don't forget Winslow.

Silke do you know that you have a very beautiful smile? I always keep forgetting to tell you that.
ReplyDeleteLove Renee xoxo

beautiful painting, and beautiful angel silke! you always say the sweetest things....thanks for always speaking from your heart! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely painting! If the blonde had long hair, it could be my best friend and me!!
ReplyDeleteSilke that is a very beautiful painting, the woman on the right reminds me of someone...I just can't quite envision who...wonderful artwork.
ReplyDeleteYou should in no way feel bad about not answering every comment or commenting on everyone's blog. If you did how would you have time to write these lovely posts showing off your artwork.
My suggestion is to just go with what you feel on any given day...just like you do with your paintings. That's what I do. Your the best!
Mmm lovely painting, we all do indeed have angels in our lives, even if we don't always realise it. I'm so grateful to be able to share in your life & paintings this way... ooh & also your twitters!! It's truly wonderful to connect with someone like you who is so far away. Thank you Silke xx
ReplyDeleteI have to say the same as Angela Recada said...
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely painting with a beautiful meaning behind it, Silke. You are such an angel, too! Blogland is lucky to have you.
I am actually working on a painting with the same meaning as yours. That was kind of mysterious.
Maybe you sent a little angle my way ;)
Looking forward to show it to you when it´s finished.

Hi Silke! Love this painting! I know a great creation when I click to enlarge the photo and am further mesmerized by the detail... you know I'm impressed with texture (a tile maker has to be, right!!?) and this photo shows the tactile experience of your work... It is a beautiful fresco painting and I love it! I also know a work has an impact on me when I'm inspired to create, and yours always generate creative juices within me... keep it up Silke... and now I must get my online presence up-and-running. Thanks again Silke...

It's always a joy to visit your blog, Silke! Your ladies are so full of character and texture. As David says, they're almost fresco like - you should maybe branch out into murals! I too haven't been answering comments on my blog but instead, I will make a point of visiting those people on their own blogs to comment. I don't think that many people have the time to revisit to check if they've been answered anyway!
ReplyDeleteEarly this summa' when I sat beside my mama's bedside, it was my blogging friends that got me through. I would not leave her room, and the computer was the one thing I could do that was still and quiet. It's funny how strangers can bring you through something like that!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful painting. I love the texture of it. Your words are truth. I very much agree with both of Ces' comments. I don't draw or paint; my brother got that gene, but I love artist blogs. All the creativity is so stimulating...it makes me want to move, dance, create, be.
ReplyDeleteHi Silke!!!
ReplyDeleteI have an award for you on my blog....your friendship means a lot to me!!!
Hugs
Diana
You guys are making me smile SO BIG !!! Thanks Silke for your sweet words of encouragement !!!
ReplyDelete(Awesome new painting, by the way !! :)
Hi Silke, I like the angels you've drawn, I specially like the meaning of it...To be the uplifter of the other...very good expressed there. I want to tell you than I have made a picture of you in pencil. I hope you like it, you have been my inspiration so I thought I could draw you. I am going to put it now in my blog.
ReplyDeleteKisses.
I love the inspiration behind this piece. You are correct. Sometimes we need an angel and sometimes we are one to others.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of the blog world I just can't help but smile, so many wonderful souls out there in our big wide world... and you are one of the brightest of them all.
