Charcoal and acrylic on 11 x 14 inch wrapped canvas
May I just say that I LOVE working this way! The initial drawing is so much fun to do and then adding color in layers somehow makes it all come to life.
Tomorrow my next drawing class starts and I cannot wait!
Beautiful! And I love the depth to it. I can really see that you enjoyed doing it. Your passion shines through! Have fun with your new class. We'll be looking forward to seeing your work.
silke I LOVE this! the texture is so interesting and the colors and form...beautiful my friend, your work is getting better and better all the time, you are blossoming so beautifully!
Amazing Silke! Not that I am amazed that you are DOING this---I am amazed at the SPEED with which you have been able to pick up the difficult skills of portraiture; and dare I say, you are just beginning. You have the talent it takes to really, really DO THIS WELL. I see it in each piece. It is not one step further, it is a huge jump! GO SILKE GO!!!!

I took time to go back a little and look at your progress too. Fantastic. So inspirational too!! I love this woman of yours and I love the charcoal drawing too, so much feeling in that. That retreat sounds like so much fun. Also it is so nice to have place you show your stuff, like the gallery, with someone you trust, that is the best!
