Time...

I thought this week would be calm and quiet, giving me lots of time to paint, to run errands, to knit, to start sewing, to blog, honor a few awards, and visit all of you.
For some reason, though, this week is turning out to be super busy.
It probably didn't help that on Tuesday I dropped a quite heavy geode bookend on my left big toe. It sliced right through my toe nail (sorry for grossing you out). It ended up not being that bad - it already doesn't hurt anymore - but sure derailed my whole day.
I had to do everything I had planned for Tuesday yesterday and was out and about all day. All enjoyable, but leaving me no time to paint or do anything else creative.
Add to that our boating class and even our evenings are filled.
But today ... I have high hopes for today! I plan to start my sewing projects, I plan to play with my paints and maybe even crochet a little bit. And - most of all - I plan to visit your blogs! Thank you all for continuing to visit mine!!
All photos were taken in and around beautiful Forsyth Park in Savannah. This last one was taken by my good friend Jennefer. All of us are constantly checking out what it blooming!

  1. Nice photos, Silke. It's been so darn hot here and I've been having to run the A/C already. Sorry to say, summer's here. Spring only lasts a couple of weeks and I don't do well having to sweat.
Enjoy your day - I'm off to the hospital....

Your beautiful photos are just what I needed this morning, since we woke up to freezing temperatures and a blanket of snow this morning. Thank you!

I hope your toe is feeling better and heals quickly.

  10. Oh the blossoms! How lovely! I woke up to snow on the ground once again! This past weekend I had washed and packed away all the boots, heavy coats and the likes. That "Murphy's Law" tends to follow me everywhere! ;)
Thanks for the eye candy. I have hope that spring will be here for good real soon. Good luck on the rest of your week.

  24. What beautiful big trees, but what are they--water oaks, perhaps?

  25. Silke, you could have responded to my question here. I wouldn't ask you a question and then not sign on to receive your response.

Yes, I meant the trees in photo number two. I have never seen such big magnolias. I thought the leaves looked big, but then they were indistinct, and the form and size of the trees looked like water oaks. The biggest magnolias I remember seeing were on the capitol grounds at Baton Rouge, but they didn't even come close to these. By the way we have Southern magnolias in town here in Eugene, Oregon. They get pretty good size, although I don't think I've seen any that were over 40 or 50 feet. They're fairly common though.
