The First Real Beach Day!

The weather has been so perfect that we decided yesterday to pack a picnic lunch and spend a few hours at the beach on Tybee Island. Heavenly!

Warm enough to enjoy the sun, yet not so hot to be uncomfortable. The water, though, is still a little too cool for me... It was a perfect day - even the dolphins swam by and said hello!
When we got home, we were greeted by fierce chirping on our front porch. Apparently mama and daddy wren are not quite fast enough with the food delivery...
I hope you all had a joyous Easter! Thank you so much for all your Easter wishes!!

P.S. If any of you are planning to see the movie "The Last Song" with Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana), it was filmed right here on Tybee Island. I think it's playing right now.

  5. omg i have not been to the beach in years... we used to go to sarasota twice a year when the kids were much younger. of course i was born in an island surrounded by beaches and here i am surrounded by pillars of concrete - life sucks. sorry, i don't mean to sound like i am complaining but, okay i am, i just miss living in a small town. this big city life and stress is turning me into a real witch...

  6. I miss the beach....the last one I was on, oh my.....when I was in college? Back in the dark ages of riding dinosaurs to and from school??? LOL!!! I love the ocean song, the heat of the sand, the cool of the beaches in San Francisco, and even the stink of the beached seaweed.
Little birdies are always hungry! Great pic!

    XXOO!!

  7. oh my how wonderful! we had a lovely day here but no where near beach weather. It is usually a good 10-20 degrees cooler at the shore here. So even though it's just 5 minutes over the bridge it was just too cool. Your photos reminded me that last year at this time I was sitting on the beach at Hilton Head :)

  13. Okay I feel better now. Crud, my body has been aching this weekend. I don't need to go to the beach, I just need a cup of tea and my drawing board today. One of those old age days...besides I am expecting a huge art supply delivery! YES!

  14. Hi Silke! Oh, I'm so jealous of a beach day... we're supposed to get whalloped by another spring storm tomorrow, with up to six inches of snow. Yuck! My poor budding tulips and daffodils. Ah well, it should make for a green summer.

Hope you had a wonderful Easter. Sending hugs!
