A Royal Breakfast...

...for the occasion of the Royal Wedding!
We got up at 4 a.m. this morning, my sweet husband made the best scones, I made something similar to Devonshire (clotted) cream (you can find the recipe here) - add to that various jams, marmalade, lemon curd and English Breakfast tea, and we had a proper breakfast while watching the royal wedding.

I can't help but reminisce about the wedding of Charles and Diana 30 years ago. I was a teenager and in England (Bournemouth) attending language school, staying with a lovely host family. I remember watching the wedding on TV and my host mother crying through the entire ceremony! We celebrated all day and I ate all the red white and blue ice cream I could.

With everything that's happening in the world, it feels great focusing on something joyful for a bit.

Wishing you a truly joy-filled day!!

  2. I'm watching the festivities right now of William and Kate. And Diana has been on my mind the whole time. She would be so happy to know that William married for love. :-]

Well, I slept through everything, but checked in on the dress when I got my morning senses about me.
    It was beautiful!
And yes, it is nice to have some beauty right now, when it is so needed.

  5. Ich habe die Hochzeit von Charles und Diana damals auch schon mit Spannung verfolgt. Werde mir nachher den Zusammenschnitt der Feierlichkeiten von Kate und William ansehen. Musste heute Morgen arbeiten.

  6. It is nice to have the news full of love and happiness for a change. It made me feel good to watch although I did not get up early to do so that would have been 1 am my time! But I did watch them kiss at 5:25am!

This was such a joyous occasion- everything was perfect- loved the Queen in yellow. Thought Fergies girls looked stupid--
