Part of that was the Circus museum, which we thoroughly enjoyed! Do you remember the excitement when you were a kid when the circus would come to town? I sure do!
These are some of the original costume sketches for the famous movie "The Greatest Show on Earth."
Here is the private train car of Mr. and Mrs. John Ringling when the circus was touring.
The interior was beautiful!
Daniel took lots of photos of a number of stunning, hand carved circus wagons.
We loved those wagon wheels!
I leave you for today with this little bit of silliness.
In my next post I'll take you on a tour of John and Mable Ringling's private mansion.

A fascinating glimpse into a half-forgotten world!
ReplyDeleteNow, I am not a circus fan when it comes to animals, but I do like the acrobatics. For some reason I never quite understood myself, I was always scared of clowns; they never made me laugh.
The wood carvings are beautiful, and the train interieur is simply fantastic!
Liebe Silke,
Anke
What great photos! Looks like you had a very nice time my friend! :D

What a wonderful collection of photos of the carvings by Daniel. And I adore those wagon wheels.
ReplyDeleteOne of my disappointments in life is that I've never been in a hall of mirrors. They seem like great fun.
What a fabulous trip. I cannot believe how ornate the train cars are, for the people and the animals! The detail! OMGoodness. I would like to take a trip in THAT train. I still love the circus.
