Venice on my Mind

I could hardly believe it last week when I found the German movies of Donna Leon's Commissario Brunetti series at our local library. The movies are in German, but - of course - set in Venice. So very beautiful!
So I have had Venice on my mind after watching a number of them and it reminded me of the few days Daniel and I got to spend there in 2007.
It was November and oh so cold! And damp! We kept "having to" stop in at cafes and have delicious coffee to warm us up. I don't think I had ever drunk that much coffee in my life.
One of these days we'd love to go back when the weather is milder.
But for now I'm content with armchair traveling while watching Commissario Brunetti solve his murder cases in that most unusual of cities.

I hope you are all having a beautiful week. We are still quite cold here down south. Wearing winter clothes at the end of March is almost unheard of. Well, soon enough I'll be complaining about the heat...

  1. Lovely photos, despite the Noevember weather.

It's still scarves and gloves over here as well.

I hadn't heard of Donna Leon's Commissario Brunetti. They sound like the sort of mystery stories to appeal to me.

i was there long ago and one day will be back. the problem with italy, as i see it, is there are SO many places to be seen and experienced. my current thought is a hillside villa with a pool and a cook. with about 8 friends :^)

currently also, silke, i wish you a chocolate bunny

    love

Thanks for sharing your trip with us... I have always wanted to visit Venice *sigh* even in the cold weather I'd be willing to go, lol!
