My art is changing again! I guess I should just expect it to change depending on how I feel and what's going on. For now, I really wanted to draw ... and that's what I did here.
I took a long time drawing this painting in detail and enjoying every minute of it.
Drawing is so relaxing to me. Like meditation!
When the drawing was perfect (to me), I started layering in thin washes of acrylic. It took way longer than my "normal" process, but was intensely satisfying.
The result is beautiful to me. There's intensity and softness. And it has a dreamy quality somehow, which I like! I already have ideas for the next one!

ReplyDeleteGuess what! I sat next to a young German girl on an airplane and asked her to pronouce "Silke" for me. What a beautiful name you have, spoken the way that it should be! I thought it was pronounced like this..."SILK-EE", but no, it is more like "Silk-eh". Just had to tell you, I was so pleased to know this!
