Painting again...

It has been over a month since I last touched my paints and I had this irrational nervousness about picking them up again. So, today was the day!
After about two minutes it was like I just painted yesterday.

I am working on the first assignment for the Life Book class. The challenge for me is to follow the assignment, but do it in my own style and I'm having fun with it! I still have a ways to go, but I love her soft face so far...
I also thought that today would be a good day to start my gratitude list again, so here it is:

Today, I am grateful for:

*being able to go to my studio and paint
*a fridge full of yummy leftovers(!!)
*clear, sunny and cold weather
*getting back into blogging regularly
*starting my year off with being surrounded by loving people, including you all!!

P.S. Those three little piggies from my last post? All gone! I ate them all for extra luck!! :)

  1. it is a wonderful soft face. the eyes are yours and yet, they seem softer too....

those little piggies have informed me that i have something that belongs with you and not with me.

  2. Glad to hear you are painting again. I have white pages of a journal just staring at me, I can't seem to get started-not the best way to start the new year.

  5. I love that face, with the color added!
My niece just sketched my face yesterday and she is very good! She only just started drawing faces she told me, and she said that some faces are harder than others to draw. She is 15 and is very talented. We don't know where she gets it!

  7. Oh Silke, you ate those cute little piggies?? hahaha I don't blame you one bit.
Isn't it great to be painting again? I have really been enjoying it the past couple of days. Your latest work is very pretty ~ I, too, like the softness of her face.

  10. I don't think it's irrational to be nervous about painting after such a long gap. I get nervous about it after a week! This is a great start to the course, I look forward to seeing what else you do!
