Scarf Question

I have a question for you all. I just finished this beautiful and super cuddly scarf from a couple of very soft and interesting yarns.
Before I list it in my shop, there is always the same question: "To fringe or not to fringe?"
Should I add a fringe or a border? What do you think? I'm totally open to suggestions...

  2. Liebe Silke,

    ich bin noch unentschlossen.
Deshalb warte ich mal, ob mir eine Lösung kommt.

Ich bin gespannt auf die Antworten.

  4. Hi Silke,

Oh this scarf looks so soft and cozy.

I think in my humble opinion a bit of fringe would look lovely, but not too over done. A
bit of wispy fringe would keep with the soft look of the scarf....well thats what I think.

Whatever you do or don't do, it's beautiful!!

    Hugs and smiles,

    Susan

  7. Another gorgeous scarf! I vote for no fringe. It doesn't need it, plus it looks like it's long enough as is.

  9. It looks SO soft and warm, and my favorite colors too, lol. I think it would be great with a little fringe at each end :-)

  10. Silke - that scarf is gorgeous - love the combination of beautiful yarns. I am giving it the no fringe vote - sometimes I like to just let my scarf dangle and fringe can get in my way. BUT - honestly it will be beautiful either way. I think it is totally your preference. (It will last about 5 minutes in your shop!)

  11. Now you know exactly what to do;-) You shall just have to decide for yourself, as you already knew. it is gorgeous either way. looks as soft as a summer cloud.

  12. I love fringe *BUT*....
the yarns look delicate and prone to fraying out in fringe. What might be great would be a handful of large drop beads at the bottom for a bit of glitz, without detracting from the yarn and beautiful pattern.

    XXOO~~♥

  13. Das ist eine echte Gewissensfrage.
Ich seh es so wie Ann. Ich liebe Fransen, aber der Schal ist sehr elegant und kommt auch ohne aus.
Was du auch machst, er sieht toll aus.

  14. I can never make a decision, but I do know the scarf is quite lovely the way it is.

  15. Wow, that is beautiful and so very delicate looking! With all the laciness of it, I think a little added fringe to soften the edges would be a very nice complement. But of course, should you decide not to, it's beautiful just the way it is, too.

Love all the spring springing up around you! And thank you, my sweet friend, for your very kind words at Amalia's today. You are wonderful! xoxoxo

  16. "To fringe"...I think most scarves, in my opinion, look better with fringe. Especially loose wearing ones. The only time I don't use fringe (besides custom orders) is when it's a heavy or stiffer scarf...like suede...I think this one would look great with fringe, to offset the angles.

  17. My daughter and sister prefer their scarves fringeless! When I list a scarf in my shop, I list it without fringe and add a blurb saying that I can add fringe at an additional cost of (let's say) $3 or whatever.... and that seems to work for me.

    Nice scarf, Silke!

  18. Hahahaha, Ding Dong Virgin! Aaaahhh, well, with the way you bake, Ding Dongs would taste like cardboard. And to answer your questions, I only know digital coloring. I WISH I could watercolor!

  20. Tough call because it really is beautiful already (I adore those smoky colors), but I'm gonna say fringe. Just 'cause a scarf needs a fringe.
