Happy Solstice!

We set the alarm for three in the morning to see the moon in full eclipse. Even with our streetlights way too bright, it was a beautiful sight! We also got to see a shooting star. And Daniel had made hot chocolate for us. Now, we are off to bed again...

Wishing you all a Happy Solstice.

  1. I'm so glad you posted this!!! I wanted so badly to see for myself. We were having a snowstorm last night. At three a.m. I was sawing logs. Not sure if the skies were clear by then.

  2. That is so totally cool Silke! I was fast asleep at that time yet it would not have mattered as we have cloudy skies.

  3. Wow, you guys are troopers. Last time I saw a lunar eclipse it was from the roof of a Manhattan apartment building. A friend was having a lunar eclipse party!

  8. Happy Solstice to you too! I'm so glad that the days are going to start getting longer. We tried to stay up and see the eclipse but were ready for bed by 9:00 PM...we are just a couple of duds.:)

  13. I was going to do that, but didn't have it in me to get up and out...so I slept through it all...glad you got a chance to see it. I have never seen a shooting star or if I did, I don't know it ;-)
