Papers

This morning, still coughing and sniffling (but feeling a little better), I did something I haven't done in a long time. I covered a canvas with beautiful papers, later to be painted over, painted on and hopefully showing through a little at the end.

I had almost forgotten how much I enjoy that process of preparing a canvas with papers and texture.

While I love the classes I am taking and am learning so much from the professors and the students, what I still love most of all is making my own art in my own little studio.

Right now I don't have the piece of mind to make much art nor will I have much time for it before the end of the year, but my head is filled with ideas and slowly and surely they will make their way onto canvas, paper or even copper plates...

I wish you a peaceful and creative day!!

  1. Hi Silke, I love those patterned papers you have there! It's great to cover canvases with the first layer, so exciting with all the possibilities. I look forward to seeing how they develop, I do hope you'll share them here! :)

  2. Good morning, Silke.
I had hoped to bypass the coughing stage of this cold... silly me. I, too, sit here coughing and sneezing and not able to breath.
The papers you've chosen for this canvas are gorgeous. I am very eager to see what evolves from this. Art is so exciting.
I hope we are both feeling better very soon. Enjoy your day!!

  9. Even without any paint added to it, the collage of paper looks artistic! I like the colours and patterns, the mixture of bright & cheerful and elegant & classic.
