Island Paradise

It is so easy for us to get so involved in our day-to-day lives that we almost forget that we live near the water. Plus, during the hot hot summer it wasn't much fun to be outside, even at the beach where not even the water temperature was refreshing anymore.
But now that the humidity has dropped, we went back to one of our favorite places on Tybee Island just a fifteen-minute drive from our house - AJ's Dockside Restaurant.
The reason we love it so much is simple - you get to sit and eat out on the dock right on the river where it flows into the ocean. Often dolphins swim by or the occasional kayaker. This weekend it was peaceful and perfect!
An Island getaway so close to where we live - on days like that we feel more than lucky!
A few last shots as the sun was setting over the marsh.
Not a breeze was blowing.
I don't know how often I have taken pictures of these coconuts over the years, but I just love those colors!
They totally inspired me to make a few more flower pins - this time in island colors...
Some with sari silk, some with "only" different kinds of yarns,
and all of them available in my little shop.
Now I am off to a rendezvouz with my sewing machine to make some more clutches like the one I am giving away. If you haven't entered my giveaway yet, you can do so by clicking here

Wishing you an excellent start to this week!!

  1. I didn't know you lived near Tybee Island. How nice. Hubby and I were planning a vacation there a while back...before the health went down. One day we'll get there though. He longs to see Savanah...I'm loving your new brooches too!

  7. Ich hoffe, dein Rendezvous hat Spaß gemacht und war erfolgreich. Wie schön, wenn man/frau den Ozean gleich um die Ecke hat. Das würde mir auch gefallen. Dir noch schöne Spätsommertage, Inge
